Vancouver, BC - In a significant step forward, Mabuhay House Society (MHS), the organization entrusted by the British Columbia government with spearheading the creation of a provincial Filipino cultural centre, has reached another milestone by hiring its first team of staff members.

This move underscores the organization's unwavering commitment to serving its community with professionalism and dedication.

Taking the helm as the society's Executive Director in August, Dr. Khristine Cariño brings a wealth of experience to her role, focusing on critical aspects such as organizational development, stakeholder engagement, and outreach initiatives.

In just her inaugural month, Cariño, together with the support of MH’s board of directors, has forged valuable relationships with over 60 community leaders interested in participating in various capacities, including the Council of Leaders, standing committees, steering committees, and adhoc committees. She has also actively represented Mabuhay House when engaging with elected officials (federal, provincial and municipal) advocating passionately for the establishment of a Filipino Cultural Centre.

Under Cariño’s leadership, this dedicated team will play a pivotal role in spearheading community engagement and communication efforts.

With a group of accomplished professionals now onboard, Mabuhay House Society looks ahead to a promising future and remains steadfast in its dedication to the core mission of constructing a provincial Filipino cultural centre in British Columbia, fostering deep connections within the Filipino community and the community at large and ensuring its enduring legacy for years to come.
